Ouch! I Should Have Looked into This Sooner.
So I have been stretching before, during, and after running because that's what you are supposed to do. I was right about that part. I was wrong about thinking I knew how to stretch properly. Fortunately I didn't pull my hamstring too bad but it was enough to take me off my feet for a couple of days and it definitely set me back on my running goals. Back to the drawing board, or Google, as the case may be.
Here is a good article I found on proper stretching for runners. I think I will follow this advice and, hopefully, spare myself more pain.
